Cairns, Australia – In what will be a day to remember on the Hot Shot! Capt. Ian “Wobbles” Ford with deckie Ryan “Bobcat” O’Halloran, managed to released 2 GRANDER BLACK MARLIN! While this has been done before, it is extremely rare, with only a handful of people in the world to ever accomplish it.
What we like even more, is this was a husband and wife combo who released these two beasts. Angler Dave Thompson released the 1st Grander, one that they called right over the 1,000 lbs mark. The 2nd and larger fish I might add released by his wife Sharon Thompson was a 1,200 lbs. beast of a Black Marlin.
These represent the 35th & 36th Granders of the Year here on Grander Watch.
We should be able to get a picture of the 1,200 for Sharon Thompson when they are back ashore.
